Kerala Tourism Department will be conducted an IPL model boat race named Champions Boat League (CBL) in Kerala from August to November 2019. The CBL will be conducted at 12 different venues across Kerala from 10th August to 1st November 2019. The boat race starts on August 10 with the Nehru Trophy Boat Race at Punnamade Lake, Alappuzha and end with the Presidents Trophy Boat Race, Kollam on November 1st, 2019.
The main objectives of this are conservation and promotion of Kerala's traditional festivals, to create an annual event to be marketed as a Tourism product and to showcase Kerala Backwaters to the world.
The CBL winner will get a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh and those fininshing second and third will get Rs.15 lakh and Rs.10 lakh respectively..
