Kerala NMMS Exam Pattern

The NMMS scholarship examination consists of mainly two section 1. Mental Ability Test & 2. Scholastic Aptitude Test:-

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT): This section assesses reasoning, critical thinking, and logical abilities. It comprises 90 multiple-choice questions and is conducted for 90 minutes (90 marks).
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): This test covers subjects taught in Classes 7 and 8, including Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. It also has 90 multiple-choice questions and is conducted for 90 minutes (90 marks).

Qualifying Marks

Students to qualify the examination must achieve a minimum mark set by the authority. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must qualify in both tests. The minimum qualifying marks in aggregate (MAT + SAT) are:

  • General Category: 40% (i.e., 72 out of 180)
  • SC/ST Category: 32% (i.e., 58 out of 180)

Final selection depends on passing these minimum criteria and securing a place on the state-wise merit list, as the number of scholarships is limited by the quota allotted to Kerala.
