Kerala ITI Admission 2026-27
Directorate General of Employment & Training, Kerala conducts the admission process for admission to Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state annually. Every year lakhs of students apply for the admission process for securing an admission in ITI's. Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) offer structured vocational and technical training in a wide range of engineering and non-engineering trades, equipping students with practical, job-ready skills for industry and self-employment.
The ITI Admission process is conducted purely through online mode by the official portal - itiadmissions.kerala.gov.in and is based on academic merit, no entrance examination will be conducted for admission. The candidates applied will be shortlisted based on the marks in their qualifying examination (Class 8, 10, or 12, depending on the trade chosen).
Kerala has more than 104 ITIs (both government and private) spread across all 14 districts, offering over 74 trades. The Kerala ITI courses has a duration ranging from 6 months to 2 years, after completing course candidates can appear for National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) trade tests and earn a National Trade Certificate (NTC), recognised across India.

Kerala ITI Admission - Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
Passed Class 8, 10, or 12 (depending on the trade) from a recognized board. Pre-degree required for Computer and DPT courses. Minimum 35% marks in the qualifying exam.

Minimum age: 14 years as of 1 August of the admission year. No upper age limit has been specified for engineering and non-engineering trades.

Must be an Indian citizen with a valid Kerala domicile certificate. Candidates from other states are not eligible for Kerala ITI government seats.

For Class 8 trades (Non-NCVT): passed 8th standard. For matric trades (NCVT): passed 10th or equivalent with 35% marks. For DTP/Computer: Pre-degree required.

Go to itiadmissions.kerala.gov.in and click on "Apply Now" or "New Registration" when the portal opens. -
Register with Basic Details
Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address to create your login credentials. A confirmation will be sent to your registered email/phone. -
Log In and Fill the Application Form
Use your credentials to log in. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, district preference, and the trades you want to apply for. -
Upload Scanned Documents
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the prescribed format (JPG/PNG, under 50 KB each). -
Pay the Application Fee
Pay ₹100 (General) or ₹50 (SC/ST) online via net banking, UPI, or debit/credit card. -
Submit and Take a Printout
Submit the form and take a printout of the application acknowledgement. You will need this to verify your application at the nearest government ITI. -
Physical Verification at Government ITI
Visit your nearest Government ITI within the stipulated time to submit the printout and get your application verified by an official. This is a mandatory step — online submission alone is not complete without verification.

Kerala ITI Merit List / Rank List 2026
The ITI admission for Kerala is purely based on academic marks secured by the candidate. The Department of Industrial Training, Government of Kerala prepares a merit list (rank list) based on candidates' marks in their qualifying examinations.
The rank of a candidate in the Kerala ITI merit list is determined by the percentage of marks scored in the last qualifying examination. For matric trades, SSLC (Class 10) marks are used. In case of a tie in marks, criteria such as age (older candidate preferred) or alphabetical order of name may be applied, as per the official notification.
The Kerala ITI Merit List 2026 / Kerala ITI Rank List 2026 will be published on the official admission portal - itiadmissions.kerala.gov.in.
