Cochin Carnival 2023,The new year events celebrations in Kochi begins on December 25th. Cochin Carnival is a popularly the visual extravaganza is a popular event that is celebrated in the last two weeks of December at Fort Kochi. Fort Kochi Parede ground is the main location for this Carnival.
The Event gives audience a view into the history of Fort Kochi. This popular event is organized by District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Ernakulam. Many programmes will be held at the location, detailed programme list has been mentioned below.
Cochin Carnival 2023 Programmes
The Cochin Carnival is an annually held event which usually starts on the second Sunday of December at the War Memorial in Fort Kochi. After the Ceremony of Peace and Solidarity competitions like Beach Football, Beach Volleyball, Beach Motor Bike Racing, Swimming, Kayaking, Kochuvanchi rowing, Angling, Cross country race, Cycling, Thekkootttam Kali, Kite flying, Badminton, Boxing, Wrestling, Carroms, Catapult, Painting-Pencil, Drawing, Mehandi, Kolam, Rangoli, Quiz, Fun-games,etc..... will be organized and evenings will be entertaining allowing audience to vibe along with traditional music, dances and can also perform various arts.
One of the main programmes at the event is the Burning of Papa. This is a popular programmes among the event where lakhs of peoples from various cities will be gathered to enjoy the vibe. The Burning of Papanni will be held at the midnight of 31st of December marking the passing of a year and the birth of another. Fireworks, music and other traditional events will be also organized along with the burning of Pappa.
