A Technical High School Leaving Certificate (THSLC) is fully equivalent to the SSLC. Students passing THSLC are eligible for all higher education opportunities available to SSLC holders.

• Polytechnic Reservation: 10% of seats in Kerala Polytechnics are strictly reserved for THSLC holders.

Eligibility Criteria

Students can apply for 8th standard admission in any of 39 available Government Technical High Schools in Kerala. Students must meet the following criterion:

• Academic: Must have completed 7th standard and be eligible for 8th-standard admission.
• Age Limit: Must not have completed 16 years of age as of June 1, 2026.
• Physical Fitness: Candidates should be physically fit for workshop training and have an aptitude for technical work.

Selection Process

All applications for the admission are invited from 10th March 2026, if by any chance the number of applicants exceeds the available seats and aptitude test or examination will be conducted. The examination will be based 7th-standard Kerala state syllabus covering Maths, Science, English, Malayalam, Social Science, General Knowledge, and Reasoning.If marks are equal, preference is given to older candidates. If the tie persists, residents of the local Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation where the school is located are prioritized.

How to Apply for DTE THS Admission 2026-27 ?

Applicants can apply for admission process for Technical High Schools through the official admission portal : ths.polyadmission.org.

• Visit the Official Portal: Access the admission website at https://ths.polyadmission.org.
• Online Application Submission: Submit the application through the portal between 10/03/2026 and 06/04/2026.
• Multiple School Selection: If applying to more than one Technical High School, select each institution and submit separate applications for each.
• Utilize Help Desks: Contact the Help Desks established at each school for assistance with the online process.
• Attend Aptitude Test: If required, attend the entrance exam on 09/04/2026 (10:00 AM to 11:30 AM) at the respective school.
• Check Selection List: Verify the final list of selected candidates published on 17/04/2026 at 2:00 PM.
• Complete Formal Admission: Report to the school with a parent/guardian between 20/04/2026 and 08/05/2026.
• Submit Original Documents: Provide the 8th-standard eligibility certificate, conduct certificate, and relevant reservation/medical certificates.

Seat Reservation

• Differently Abled (DA): 5% reservation (requires 40% or more disability certificate).
• SC/ST: 10% reservation (Ratio 8:2).
• Ex-Servicemen/Defense Personnel: 1 seat per school is reserved for children of defense personnel.

Uniform and Fee Structure

Students attaining admission in Technical High Schools are mandatory to wear uniforms featuring specific lavender and white striped shirts/tops with navy blue trousers/churidar. Special navy blue uniforms are required for workshop practice.

Fee Structure

• Admission Fee: 60 INR (First year only).
• Caution Deposit: 50 INR (First year only).
• Other Annual Fees: Includes Arts, Athletic, Magazine, and Exam fees totaling approximately 130 INR per year.
• Note: Tuition fees are not charged. SC/ST students are exempt from most fees at the time of admission, except the caution deposit.
