Kerala's most awaited Nehru Trophy Race is all set to bring its 71st race in the hometown of Allapuzha, Punnamada Lake on August 30th 2025. The Nehru Boat Race is one of the most populated and enjoyed vallam kali (snake boat race) in Kerala.

The Nehru Trophy Boat Race is an annual vallam kali held in the Punnamada Lake near Alappuzha, Kerala, India. This year, the vallam kali will be held on August 30th 2025. The boat race was firstly inaugurated in 1952 and it gots its name from India's First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

The allapuzha backwaters transform into a mega stage with millions of audience all over from globe to watch this masterpice. Hundreds of oarsmens on a single boat streching its length over 100 feet compete against one another teams to lift the Nehru Trophy.This year the race day is scheduled on 4th saturday of the moth coinciding with Kerala most famous festival Onam.
