Atham is considered as an auspicious day by the people of Kerala as it marks the beginning of 10 days Onam Festival. The famous Tripunithura Athachamayam is conducted every year on the Atham day (Attam) of the Malayalam month of Chingam (August – September). The Athachamayam Festival held at Tripunithura (the land of temples ) in Ernakulam district of Kerala. Thripunithura Athakhosham mark the colourful beginning of 10 day long Onam festival, which includes some of the beautiful traditional Kerala art forms presented at the procession like Panchavadyam,Theyyam, Mayilattom, Pulikali, Pambamelam, pancahrimelam, Karakattam, Ammankudam and Aattakavadi etc..
